Movement

No change at the top, where #1 Andrew still enjoys a minuscule lead of 0.03 points over #2 Tristan. Both players have been inactive for two months, but with other players chipping away at them, perhaps something will change.

#9 Rebecca Chaneski was the highest active player and reported 3 improvements. She improved Luigi lap to 7th place, Mushroom City lap to 8th, and found a tiny cut in Mushroom Bridge that did not earn any new spots. Rebecca has recently been testing out 50Hz and these are some of her first PRs there, which are very close to her 60Hz times.

#21 Shane Pizza moved ahead of Jacob P thanks to six cuts. He improved Luigi lap 30->24th, Cruiser course 31->26th, Cruiser lap 34->23rd, Waluigi lap 5->4th, and Yoshi lap 26->23rd. Obviously the special time there was Waluigi lap, already Shane's best score, moving yet another spot higher (a win on Rebecca!). Shane seems keen on a 1'14 Luigi run and missed it by 0"005, so he may keep trying that track some more. He said that he played these in 50Hz, and his Waluigi lap was No. 2 in the 50Hz charts.

Although #28 Enzo Vusur did not gain any spots for his 0.6pt AF cut, he neutralised much of the gap between himself and #27 Killian. Killian is the No. 3 French player and Enzo would like to take that podium spot as soon as possible. This week he continued grinding Rainbow, to no avail, and decided to switch to Luigi and see if he can get that God standard instead. It's the only God standard he is missing from the Mushroom and Flower Cups, and he ran a PR but missed the God cutoff by 0"003. The 1lap fared batter and Enzo improved from 48th to 26th place, smashing his old run from 2024.

#41 Midnightial recently passed Paul T and is working on Zach O next in order to win a top-40 rankings. This week was dedicated to Yoshi Circuit, with big cuts to the 3lap (53->32nd) and lap (50->30th). The lap was Midnightial's 15th God standard and, perhaps surprisingly, was his highest ranked time. He has quite a collection of scores ranked in the 30s but not yet a "top-30" run, and getting smack on 30th counts as top-30.

Several players are future hopefuls to enter the top-50: #56 Shaurya Mishra, #63 Andrea Coronado, #68 Joe Consoli, and #69 Andy A were all active this week. Shaurya is one of the new emulator players and he improved 10 PRs to move up six positions and reach Myth A status. Most improvements were previously ranked 70+ and the new runs are closer to top-50. The biggest cut was on Mario Circuit lap, from 96th to 51st. Andrea had three small wins to report: a sub-1'38 Cruiser, a new God standard (her seventh so far) on Dry Dry Desert, and moving ahead of ex-champion Jonathan S in the rankings. Joe and Andy both reported a couple of PRs each, with Joe's highlight being a gigantic Sherbet lap improvement (79->39th) and Andy's being similarly impressive on Desert 3lap (73->47th). Both Joe and Andy reached Myth B status at the same time.

#139 Marisa Brown reported their first submission in just over a year. A 13pt AF cut from 16 individual improvements sent Marisa safely back inside the top-150. The previously unfinished business of having a few 200+ ranked times is now checked off, with the last couple of stragglers over the finish lines. Although I feel like Marisa had some top-100 runs before, they've fallen off due to inactivity and the new Mario Circuit run of 1'28"8, ranked 92nd, was a return to top-100 form. The icing on the cake was reaching Titan B level, which is definitely treading new grounds.

Elsewhere in the top-200, #173 Ewan Lesko raced another top-150 run (four so far) and #181 Nathan Hayter became a Titan. Also impressive: #77 Sebastien Legay (who was active last year, so don't act to shocked to see his name) managed to improve his Wario Colosseum time that he had set back in 2009. We all of you even alive in 2009?

#712 Adam Spry's comeback continued with a 58pt cut, piggy-backing off last week's 76pt cut. His best time last week was 661st place. This week he has seven scores that rival that, and found two runs that were ranked 500-600. I'm sure there's more to come here since Adam has not yet revisited all tracks.

#947 Darkcry Valou is playing multiple Mario Karts right now, and produced a 72pt cut here this week. The most salient change in his timesheet is that he is racing many more Advanced standards (up to 11/32 now) and should be able to move out of the Intermediate tier soon.

Also active: #341 Stephen De Winter (slight boost to 97th place in Rainbow), #421 Oliwia Tachyon (top-250 on Luigi lap).

At the very top, #1 Andrew H lost 0.03 AF points after losing a record to Trenton, but maintains a tiny 0.03 lead over #2 Tristan C.

#9 Rebecca Chaneski and #10 Trenton Steinburg were the highest active players. Recently reanimated, Rebecca got a top-10 run on Mushroom City lap and beat their six year old lap from 2020 covid era. Trenton improved his weakest time, Daisy Cruiser lap, from 18th to 13th place. He also improved one of his best times, Rainbow Road, to get a new record! Rebecca has a 0.5pt lead over Trenton and a little bit of breathing room, but ultimatly they are closer in the rankings than many other pairs around them.

#22 Shane Pizza tackled three of his worst performing tracks. He improved Bowser's Castle from 34th to 22nd, Mario Circuit 3lap from 31st to 24th, and Mario lap from 29th to 19th. All three were above his average and Shane was pleased to get Mario Circuit out of the way, as it seems to not be his favourite track. With a 1pt AF cut, Shane took ex-champion Hendrik B's spot in the rankings.

#41 Midnightial moved ahead of ex-champion Paul T with some impressive cuts on Waluigi Stadium. He was previously 45th and 56th on the course and lap, with the 3lap being as recent as last week but the lap being six months old. The new runs were 37th and 39th, with the lap being Midnightial's fourteenth God standard. Although the eight positions jumps in the course time may seem small, the new 3lap run was a whole 0"75 faster than last week's. While he was there, Midnightial also played some Glitch laps and got his first sub-30 run.

#68 Joe Consoli had five runs to report and moved ahead of Ivy A and Andy A in the rankings. He was pleased to finally score the God standard on Mushroom Bridge with 70th place on the 3lap. Peach Beach also produced two God standards, with 67th place on the 3lap and 52nd on the lap. Both were roughly 30 spots higher than Joe's runs from three weeks ago, and the lap was Joe's first Illinois state record (where most are held by either #53 Bo or #40 Zach). Finally, getting 51st place on Mario Circuit lap was bittersweet as it missed the God standard by 0"02 and missed the top-50 by 0"01, and yet it was a huge cut on a track where even a few weeks ago Joe was circa 100th place.

#758 Adam Spry mounted a comeback last week and continued into the new week with 15 PRs and a 76pt cut. He focused on his weakest tracks -- things ranked 900+ or 1000+ -- and improved half of his timesheet. Last week Adam improved his Bowser's Castle to top-700 and this week he improved Sherbet Land to 661st, once again scoring a new highest-ranked time. However, most of Adam's improvements were on his weaker tracks and so Sherbet Land was the the only outlier, with the rest of his timesheet spread across the Advanced tier. Adam updated some of his last Intermediate standards and is up to 30/32 Advanced, with only DK Mountain left. He played it ten days ago, so the scores there are recent.

Trenton S took the Rainbow Road record with a 2'53"751, improving his personal best by 0"6 to move ahead of Mattilde's 2'53"9 and Andrew's 2"53"8. Mattilde and Andrew's runs are from a few years ago, and Trenton (and Tristan) both had some strong races this year that weren't quite at sub-2'54 level. His record run had a very strong first and second lap, some of the fastest ever raced. The final lap let him down, but it was enough to secure a huge cut and also the WR.

#9 Rebecca Chaneski is back with their first scores in just over one year. Rebecca said they have started playing 50Hz for the first time and, after a week of practice and grinding, improved two scores: Luigi lap (by 0"02) and Mushroom City lap (by 0"01). Small cuts for now, but Rebecca said more will come. She noted that it's good to get the first ones out of the way. Rebecca's AF improved by 0.1 but an additional 1.3 points are needed to reach #8 Xander G.

#23 Shane Pizza continued grinding Mushroom Bridge and added to last week's improvement of Mushroom Bridge, going another seven spots higher. It was arguably his weakest track two weeks ago and is looking quite healthy right now. Shane was sad to miss Hendrik's time by a mere 0"001, so it's possible that he will keep grinding this track.

#43 Midnightial has been stuck on 43rd place for a few weeks, and his 0.8pt AF cut this finally minimised the 3-point gap between the two players around him. Although he did not gain a spot yet, the next two players (Mikel N and ex-champion Paul T) are a mere 0.1 points ahead and Midnightial could pass them with a single improvement on some track. The new submissions were on Waluigi Stadium (top-50) and Mushroom City (double top-40) with the 3lap run, ranked 34th, being just three spots behind his highest-ranked time. The new Mushroom City times were also his new best (sans Baby Park) standards, both improved from G+3 to G+7.

#69 Andy A moved ahead of Joe C and Jon K, at least one of whom has recently been "on fire". Andy was last active in February, so it's not clear when he raced the 4 improvements in his submission, but they included three new God standards: Peach Beach 1'08"2, Baby Park 1'04"5, and Mushroom Bridge 1'19"0. These were Andy's sixth, seventh, and eighth Gods. His other new PR, on Yoshi Circuit, sits are mid-Myth level despite being ranked in the mid-50s like many of his other best scores. The Baby Park run, ranked 52nd, was slightly higher ranked than the rest and Andy was hoping to land his second top-50. He already has Sherbet Land ranked 48th, which he raced almost a year ago, so it's time for another.

#101 Jack Hotchkiss passed Mike H and will tackle Zevihex T next for a top-100 spot. If you remember recent updates, Jack became a Luigi Circuit specialist and improved his times to top-15 level where his average is over 100. He also started playing 50Hz and grinded Luigi Circuit over and over, making additional improvements and pushing his lap time to 12th. This happened a few weeks ago. Since then Jack moved to the next track, Peach Beach, and started grinding it. His latest cuts are improving his 3lap from 55th to 33rd and his lap from 47th to 15th, almost level with his Luigi Circuit efforts. If he keeps this up -- one track per week and getting top-20s -- then you can imagine that he will climb quite a bit higher in the rankings. It's a big lift, but Jack is showing us that he can race top-15 qualify play on two tracks now.

#425 Oliwia Tachyon found her sixth Hero standard with a wild improvement on Mushroom City, moving up from 423rd to 268th. Like last week, Luigi Circuit also saw another 100+ position jump, this time on the 3lap. Oliwia is branching out beyond Baby Park, which she has improved to the limit (top-75) and the pair of Luigi lap from last week and Mushroom City lap from this week are her first top-300 times on tracks outside of Baby Park. She gained four spots in the rankings.

Also active: #28 Enzo 'Enzu' Vusur (top-25 on Rainbow), #830 Adam Spry (first runs since February), #1041 Darkcry Valou (upgraded some more Beginner times, with just one left to go).

#10 Trenton Steinburg, #23 Shane Pizza, and #28 Enzo Vusur were the highest active players, although none of them gained any spots in the rankings. Trenton got his 50Hz Mario Circuit lap quite close to his existing 60Hz lap and it looks like he is trying to crack the top-10 there. Shane raced three cuts, including improvements to his two weakest scores on Mushroom Bridge 3lap and Mushroom City lap, which were teetering and looking glum around the top-40 level. Enzo grinded Rainbow Road some more. He said that he had many would-be 57"2 runs but it has not quite happened yet and he is still stuck at 20th position instead of top-10, where he aspires to reach. Meanwhile, he improved his 3lap run by half a second and is getting close to the God standard there.

#68 Joe Consoli's self-professed 'poopy' week turned out quite well, with a 6pt AF cut and seven spots gained. Did Joe perhaps want to go even higher? Out of 9 improvements, Joe's highlights were Luigi Circuit lap (from 89th to 57th) and Bowser's Castle lap (from 115th to 60th). The former is Joe's second-highest ranked time and fourth God standard. The latter was a uno-reverse, jumping 5 standards and going from worst to third-best time in one update. Joe's AF is below 80 now, so he is expected to be racing times ranked between 75-80 and a few of his runs this week were in the 60s. Does he look like a top-50 contender? He needs to average 52 to reach the top-50, and his best run is ranked 50th, so there is quite a bit of work to do to make that happen.

#72 Charlotte Crego upgraded their Luigi 3lap from Titan to Myth D, winning their 27th Myth standard. It was somewhat bittersweet because Charlotte's Bridge lap was beaten and dropped from 99th to 100th place, ruining the clean sweep of double-digit ranks. Charlotte is busy with college and only playing a little bit each week, so it's not guaranteed that we'll get an update every week.

#101 Jack Hotchkiss did just enough to get ahead of Kris W, cutting 2 AF points and winning one position by a mere 0.03. He is not quite there yet, however, because to get to the top-100 he needs to cut another point and catch Mike H. Jack has started playing 50Hz recently, with some impressive Luigi Circuit runs last week on what was already his best track. This week Jack played Peach Beach, a very A-tech friendly track, and improved his time from 1'08'9 to 1'08"1 (113th to 55th). Is 50Hz easier, or was Jack's time from 2023 a bit dated as is? Let's see how Jack goes as he tackles the other tracks. It looks like he is playing them in order, giving each one about a week of grinding.

#175 Ewan Lesko took advantage of #183 Nathan H's quiet week and finally overtook. Ewan also passed a handful of other players, such as Fabien dS, Marvin M, and Scott A. He upgraded four Heroes to Titan and reached 18/32 Titans, with the most significant time being, perhaps, his 8"60 Baby Park lap ranked 132nd. It's his second highest ranked time (after 122nd spot in Luigi lap) and was an improvement of 5 standards over his previous run from last week. Ewan also reached Titan D level and waved goodbye to the Hero ranks, so that's another win.

Also active: #43 Midnightial (just missed out on a sub-1'35 Mushroom City), #429 Oliwia Tachyon (improved Luigi Circuit by 100+ spots), #502 Tyler King (return after 4 years and scored his first Hero standard), #1053 Darkcry Valou (completed his timesheet).

I don't know much about Shaurya, except that they said they play on emulator. Shaurya has strong times all over with 31/32 top-100s and quite a few God standards. Their strongest time is ranked 51st, as per emulator rules of not reporting top-50 runs. Shaurya has videos for almost everything, so go have a look!

Some excitement at the top, with everyone losing a bit of AF. The first rank change was #6 Truffle10 taking the #7 spot from Ricky Haitaian. Truffle's 0.4pt cut was too much for Ricky's 0.1pt cut, although both players are still fairly close to each other. Truffle reported four improvements, including a blazing 1'41"1 in DK Mountain that remained in 2nd place, but the actual AF cuts all came from Luigi Circuit where Truffle toppled their weakest scores to improve the course from 23rd to 13th and the lap from 12th to 7th. Ricky had a pretty good week, actually: he beat Truffle's lap on Mushroom City, climbed from 5th to 3rd on Luigi Circuit lap, and scored a couple of 50Hz records.

#10 Trenton Steinburg also checked in with a very strong 57"11 Rainbow lap, a jump from 9th to 4th place for him and second to Mattilde in 50Hz. Getting this 50Hz record would be tough because Mattilde's run is also the overall WR and the only player sub-57. With a 3rd-4th combo on this track, Rainbow Road really seems to be one of Trenton's strong suites.

#23 Shane Pizza overtook #24 Aron L, where last week both players were tied on identical AF. Shane's 1.0pt AF cut, while substantial, was not enough to gain him any more spots other than break a tie. The next player ahead is ex-champion Hendrik B. Shane's big moves were on Rainbow Road where he improved his course and lap by around ten spots, from 37th & 32nd to 27th & 23rd, but he also scored two new God standards -- the aforementioned Rainbow lap, and also Colosseum 2lap -- which elevate his collection to 30/32 Gods.

Elsewhere in the top-50, #28 Enzo Vusur, #38 Mats Frium, and #43 Midnightial all made submissions. Enzo cut 0"2 off his Rainbow lap to win a top-20 score, and his fifth highest ranked time. Mats also played Rainbow lap (are you sensing a theme here?) and improved his to 17th spot, slightly ahead of Enzo's and now Mats's new highest ranked time. Midnightial bucked the trend and went to DK Mountain instead, where he upgraded his final two remaining Titan standards to Myth level and jumped twenty spots in both the course and lap. The 3lap rank, ranked 36th, is actually one of Midnightial's top times on any track.

#75 Joe Consoli reported an impressive 9pt cut, simply saying "How?" in his submission. He seems to surprise himself. This week Joe found 13 cuts, enough to gain 14 positions and overtake players such as Sebastien L, Adam W, JSX, Fernando MdS, and dannyb. He didn't score any new God standards (still has three from before), but instead managed to upgrade 4 Titans to Myth and managed to upgrade all 9 of his 100+ ranked times to top-100 level. The biggest cuts were perhaps Daisy Cruiser (from 106th to 68th), DK Mountain (112th to 67th), and Dino Dino Jungle (118th to 77th). These were mostly in line with Joe's average of 81.2, so he was polishing the weaker tracks. Bowser's Castle is now an obvious eyesore, where both scores are ranked around 120th place, and are Joe's only 100+ ranked times and nearly 40 positions behind his average. Expect Bowsering.

There was some activity near the top-150. #159 Theo Bregegere gained five positions thanks to some big cuts on Peach Beach (from 170th to 124th) and Dry Dry Desert (from 145th to 98th), which awarded him his first top-100 run as well as first Myth standard. #182 Nathan Hayter and #183 Ewan Lesko, both relatively new players, also powered ahead with 7pt and 21pt cuts. Nathan has gained a hundred spots in the last couple of months, albeit has slowed down recently and is no longer hitting centuries. This week he raced five improvements, including his second Myth standard where he gained almost one hundred positions on Baby Park lap. Nathan is maybe one PR away from getting a promotion from Hero to Titan. Ewan has been gradually following Nathan by 10-20 spots for months, and this week moved right up -- just one spot behind. The most obvious change in his timesheet is that Ewan is regularly hitting top-200 scores now, and increased last week's tally of 10/32 top-200s to 21/32, a clear majority. Only Rainbow and Colosseum are substantially worse than 200th, with several other tracks being so close to 200 than it seems a formality. Ewan's AF also improved from 209 to 188, clearly averaging below 200th place.

#401 Alec Cusa raced his second Hero standard this week. His first one came this time last year, with a Hero D on Dry Dry Desert lap, and this week he added Peach Beach lap after improving his score from 436th place to 350th. Alec gained five spots in the rankings and is poised to join the top-400 soon. #438 Oliwia Tachyon is not too far behind, and with some new site rules about emulator usage being allowed for scores up to top-50, Oliwia continued grinding her favourite track (Baby Park lap) to improve it from 102nd to 70th. Oliwia said she has untapped potential here and may go higher. For a player averaging closer to 500th place, being top-75 in one track is quite impressive.

~1174 Darkcry Valou did a good job filling in most of his missing times. He reported 32 improvements, some duplicates on the same track, to get to 30/32 submissions. With only Sherbet to go, he should receive a ranking very soon. ARR-wise, Darkcry was previously Beginner C and the new runs put him closer to Intermediate D, with a peak ranking of 610th place on Baby Park.

Also active: #111 James Bulluck (first runs in a month), #592 Cryptonic (return after seven months).

New Records

Ricky H improved two 50Hz records this week. One was Luigi Circuit lap 24"094, third place overall and 0"02 faster than Mattilde's lap from late 2023. Ricky came just 0"01 short on this lap four weeks ago and wanted to finish the job and cut that last frame. The other record was a 1'41"307 Dino Dino Jungle 3lap, an improvement to his own 1'41"36 from April. Ricky has 5 WRs in 50Hz now.

#10 Trenton Steinburg was the top active player, racing three small improvements. Rainbow 2'54"3 was the most significant and it was a win on Mike and Tristan (but not Andrew), so it slightly lowered the AFs of #2 and #3 but not #1. Trenton needs another 0.6 AF points to reach #9 Rebecca C.

#23 Shane Pizza gained a spot by tying #23 Aron L. Shane reported four improvements, his first one for the month. In Peach Beach, he improved both the course and lap by ten spots to take them inside the top40. It was one of the only tracks left over that he did not have a top-40 run, and the last one remaining is his Mushroom Bridge 3lap (currently ranked 42nd). Shane also shaved 0"2 seconds off his Yoshi Circuit 3lap to score the God standard there, laying claim to his 28th God time.

#28 Enzo Vusur has advanced quite high in the rankings over the past year, moving up from 60+ to nearly top-25. He played only one track this week, Rainbow Road, and given that his old course time was still from 2024 might give you a hint that he improved it by quite a bit. His old run was ranked 46th and his new run, more than one second faster, is now 27th. The lap was a small jump of four positions, from 31st to 27th, but it did hit the God standard and was Enzo's 25th God standard. His ARR improved from 0.43 to 0.33 and is well on its way towards 0.00. Enzo passed Liam E in the rankings: just one spot, but 28th seems a lot closer to top-25 compared to 29th.

#43 Midnightial found a 1.4pt cut, enough to pass Marius M (ex-champion), Raphael S (ex-champion), and Christian W (Combined Ranks champion). Solid team right there. Midnightial spent most of the week in Bowser's Castle and found both God standards after a long grind, where he improved his course and lap from 50+ to 31st and 41st places. Incidentally, 31st place is his highest ranked time, one spot ahead of his Rainbow and two spots ahead of Sherbet lap. The most important news for Midnightial was that he was promoted from Myth A to Myth+ status.

#71 Charlotte Crego gained three spots by passing Aaron vdS, Maurice B, and Rene B. With 7 improvements, they reached overall Myth C level, cleaned up the final two 100+ ranked scores to get to 32/32 top-100, and discovered that Bowser's Castle is not so scary and made it one of their top tracks. Charlotte's previous Castle times were ranked around 100th place and the new pair are 64th and 68th, which has suddenly become their second-best track (after Waluigi Stadium). Charlotte pointed out that college is restarting and play time may decrease until the next break.

#89 Joe Consoli's 7pt AF cut was the largest in the top-100. Joe improved ten of his scores and found five new top-100s runs in the mix. He scored a few very large cuts, such as Waluigi lap (96th to 60th) & Mushroom City lap (77th to 50th), and upgraded five Titans to Myth level. No surprise that, with 18/32 Myths in tow, Joe also reached overall Myth D level and graduated from the Titan tier.

#102 Jack Hotchkiss didn't reach the top-100 and didn't seem to be going for it because he decided to grind his best track, Luigi Circuit. It's the worse bang-for-buck in Jack's timesheet, yet he wanted to see how far he can go. This week he pushed his Luigi lap from 19th to 11th place and is already rubbing shoulders with the likes of Rebecca, David, Truffle10, and Trenton who are the players that he is closest to on that track.

#186 Nathan Hayter and #201 Ewan Lesko both posted healthy cuts of 13 and 16 AF points. Nathan was already top-200 overall and raced quite a few new top-200, with the highlight being Mushroom Bridge lap (from 245th to 169th place). Ewan had several similar cuts -- Sherbet lap (257th to 157th), Yoshi lap (247th to 147th), Castle lap (245th to 179th) -- that his timesheet saw five new Titan standards. Ewan also found his first Myth standard, on Baby Park lap. One or two more PRs would be enough to make the top-200.

Movement

#2 Tristan Carter was active for the first time since January, saying that he's been racing for the past few weeks to regain his skills. He finally scored an improvement, on Waluigi Stadium lap. Sadly no rank for him, but #1 Andrew H suffered a 0.03 drop in AF due to getting beaten by ...
on another track. As a result, Andrew's AF dropped back to 2.81. Tristan remains on 2.84. Literally the smallest AF margin possible separating #1 and #2.

#4 David GP, #6 Ricky Haitaian, and #7 Truffle10 were also active within the top 10 and trying to quietly influence the #1 spot. Like Tristan, David also returned with his first cuts since January; he improved his Peach Beach lap by one spot to clinch 5th place, and got a new 50Hz record on Dry Dry Desert (albeit his 60Hz time was faster). Ricky found three improvements, notably 7th place in Waluigi lap and 7th place in Peach Beach lap. The latter was previously a four-way tie that included #1 Andrew, so Ricky's breaking of the tie resulting in Andrew's slightly AF reduction this week. Truffle also played Peach Beach and tied Andrew (and Ricky's old lap), while also pushing his course time from 11th to 9th to grab their twenty first top-10 score. All three players found fairly small AF cuts of <0.2 points, but Ricky was so close to Truffle that actually ended up passing them to win the #6 spot. Although Truffle fell back to #7, they are only 0.03 points behind Ricky and could recoup that with a single PR.

#29 Enzo Vusur moved ahead of #30 Magnus L, yet both remain top-30. Enzo continued grinding Waluigi Stadium after last week's shock lap, and further improved it from 24th down to 14th place. He managed a decent cut on his course time as well, improving it from Myth B to the God standard to subsequently reach a total 24/32 Gods. Whenever Enzo's lap went awry he decided to take the shortcut and also managed to improve his Glitch lap from 16th to 9th, but admits that they were only half-serious attempts and that he can go much faster if he focuses just on the shortcut.

Also in the top-50, #38 Mats Frium moved ahead of Ryan S. He found an old track to play, Peach Beach, where his last improvements were 1.5 years. The improvements came quickly and Mats jumped from 61st to 34th on the 3lap. He improved his lap to just inside the top-40 as well to keep the track in line with his overall average of 40.4. Some other old scores include Baby Park and Sherbet Land, both from last year, both ranked 60+. They might be the next targets.

#74 Charlotte Crego and #96 Joe Consoli continued their activity streaks around the top-100, with a reanimated #103 Jack Hotchkiss joining in. Charlotte found their 30th top-100 score on Sherbet Land and the resulting AF cut put them ahead of #75 Sebastien L in the rankings. Joe finished his medium term goal of reaching the top-100, moving up from 101st to 96th. He raced nine cuts and most (but not all) were top-100 quality, with his biggest improvement coming from Baby Park lap (116th to 73rd). Joe is on the very tip of the Titan tier and should reach the Myths next week. Although he reached his goal of getting to top-100, Joe realised that he is fourth in his own state and says that he will continue. Finally, Jack returned after a year and a half break with some new 50Hz scores. He said that he bought an old console to try out 50Hz and improved his Luigi lap from 21st to 19th; more impressively he improved his 3lap on that track from 27th to 13th. Luigi Circuit was already Jack's best track (by a long long way) and it's a track he knows inside out, so it's interesting to see him get very close to the top-10s despite having been away for more than a year.

Around the top-200, #164 Theo Bregegere grinded a big cut on Luigi Circuit to jump from 177th to 127th, turning it into one of his best tracks that is just spot off his best ranked time. The resulting five point AF cut for the week gave Theo victory over Max M, Zach T, Robert C, and Paul R in the charts. A little further back, #214 Ewan Lesko reported an 11pt cut this week and generated nine improvements; he reached overall Hero B status and one of his improvements was an upgrade from Hero to Titan standard, his sixth one so far.

Also active: #253 Zoheb Battery (returned after almost a year and found their third Titan standard), #446 Oliwia Tachyon (cut a hundred spots off Mushroom Bridge).

New Records

David GP improved the 50Hz Dry Dry Desert record to 1'28"277, a bit ahead of Ricky's 1'28"4 from two months ago.

Movement

The usual suspects were active at the top of the table this week. #6 Truffle10 reported a 0.45 cut and held off #7 Ricky Haitaian, who found a 0.6 cut and almost sneaked ahead. Truffle's six improvements this week had two standout highlights: a 1'02"6 in Baby Park (third place) and a 30"9 Cruiser lap (1st). Ricky tackled his two weakest tracks, Baby Park and Rainbow Road, for low hanging fruit. His new Baby Park times are closer to the top-10 than before, and his new Rainbow lap was a jump from 16th to 7th. No luck on the Rainbow course time, it seems, which did not follow the lap higher and is still one of Ricky's weaknesses. Still, Ricky's improvements took him ahead of #8 Xander G and within 0.1 AF points from Truffle, so they might shuffle around next week.

#10 Trenton Steinburg reported 5 improvements. He completed his missing tracks in the 50Hz timesheet and made great strides in 50Hz, while largely not affecting the combined charts. The two Baby Park runs he submitted were quite weak and ranked 20th, compare to his average of 5.5, but the new Rainbow runs were quite strong. Trenton debuts as No. 4 in the 50Hz rankings behind Mattilde, Ricky and Richard. With stronger Baby Park he would be fighting for bronze or even silver. He also played some Glitch runs and improved the Sherbet Land lap record -- see below.

#30 Enzo Vusur very nearly took Magnus L's 29th place, and will have to wait until next update to get it. He revisited Waluigi Stadium after six month break from it, and improved the lap from 40th to 24th. The 3lap is also now top-50, giving Enzo a 30/32 top-50 timesheet. #34 Andreas Gkinis and #39 Mats Frium were close by, and both gained spots: Andreas passed Konsta J and Mats passed Zach O. Andreas's highlights were finding his first sub-1'30 Desert run, a notable milestone, and boosting his Mushroom City lap as high as 19th, which makes it his third top-20 score and the first one outside of Baby Park. Mats spent his week in Dino Dino Jungle and found a 19th God standard there; the Jungle is neither one of his best nor worst tracks, but Mats's old PRs were from 2024 and due for a revisit.

Closer to the top-100, #75 Charlotte Crego and #101 Joe Consoli both reported 5pt AF cuts. Charlotte gained seven positions, passing the likes of Adam W, JSX, Alec R, and former champion Fernando MdS, so reach the top-75. Their runs this week seemed to be dedicated to upgrading the weakest 100+ ranked times, and Charlotte succeeded on five such attempts, leaving only three remaining scores that are still ranked 100+. Their biggest improvement was Daisy Cruiser lap, from 105th to 68th, which also jumped three standards from Myth D to Myth A. Meanwhile, Joe is still on the less glamorous side of the top-100 but he knows that he is very close. He improved six scores to top-100 level, almost doubling his previous tally, and found a new God standard (his second one) with a 21"99 Peach Beach lap.

#168 Theo Bregegere, #198 Nathan Hayter, #222 Jacob Langone, and #225 Ewan Lesko were all active around the top-200 region. Theo reported his first improvements in four weeks, netting a 9pt AF cut. He upgraded three Hero standards to Titan to reach 29/32 Titans. His other highlights were improving Jungle lap from 197th to 137th (basically his second best time after DK Mountain) and slashing one hundred spots off his Baby Park lap (from 289th to 193rd). Armed with a 22pt cut, Nathan joined the top-200 and it may have taken him two weeks to do it, averaging just over ten positions per week. He reported many new top-200s and is close to getting his average below 200 as well. Nathan's big winner was Yoshi Circuit, where he improved the lap to 136th and the course time to 83rd. Jacob and Ewan are on the other side of the top-200 gate and aspiring to get there one day. Jacob improved his Colosseum to top-250, while Ewan grew his top-200s collection from two to five.

New Records

Truffle10 found their first WR with a 30"993 Daisy Cruiser lap. Truffle had a 31"04 last month and improved their lap by 0"1 seconds to jump from sixth to first. The previous record was a 30"95 by Tristan from around this time last year.

Trenton S improved the Sherbet Land Glitch record to 23"480, making it slightly faster than the non-Glitch record of 23"53. The glitch involves hitting checkpoints, reversing a whole lap, and being able to start the next lap slightly in front of the finish line, but also costs a mushroom, so the margins are tight. You can watch the video. Trenton says that the racing was not great and that it can be improved further and set it apart from the non-Glitch lap.
